The Illinois Woman's Press Association, IWPA (since 1885) is an organization of communications professionals whose objective is to maintain and improve the professional standards of members in mass communications in Illinois, to promote their interest, and to provide for the sharing of ideas and information. IWPA is an affiliate of the National Federation of Press Women.

National Federation of Press Women Conference Set for Chicago

We've just launched our blog. We're looking for contributors and comments. Please feel free to get involved!

Save the date. August 26-28, 2010 - Chicago will be the site for the National Federation of Press Women conference. Cecilia Green and Suzanne Hanney are the co-chairs. Plan now for attending the three days packed with activities, camaraderie, and seminars. Our own IWPA is celebrating our 125th anniversary at the historic Union League Club. We need volunteers to help with the planning and execution. All members are encouraged to participate. Pre-tours start the 22nd. (Perhaps we will get to visit the not so easy tour of Hyde Park where our president-elect resides! Or perhaps we'll be off to see the White Sox - Obama's a South-sider!) One of the post tours will include a trip down the historic Rt. 66 through Illinois from August 29-31. Visit the IWPA website for frequent updates.
